Timing Privacy Policy
SEP TRADING CO.,LTD. (“we” or “us”) operates Timing, a Seoul subway guide for travelers (the “App”). This Privacy Policy describes what information leaves your device, the purposes for which it is processed, and how long it is retained.
Summary
- The App requires no account or login and contains no analytics or tracking.
- The App does not request access to your location, contacts, photos, camera, or notifications.
- Favorite stations and favorite bus stops are stored only on your device.
- Search terms you enter are transmitted to our server solely to return results and are not linked to you.
- Address search terms are forwarded to an address service operated by the Korean government.
- For bus arrivals, the bus stop number you select is sent to our server and forwarded to a public bus information service of the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
- Timing is a paid app purchased once from the App Store or Google Play. The store processes the payment; we do not receive your card or payment information, and the App does not collect payment information.
Information that we do not collect
We do not request or collect your name, email address, telephone number, location, contacts, or advertising identifiers. The App contains no analytics or crash-reporting software.
Payment. Timing is a paid app purchased once from the Apple App Store or Google Play. The store processes the payment under its own privacy policy (Apple, Google). We do not receive your card number or other payment information, and the App does not collect payment information. The App contains no in-app purchases.
Information stored only on your device

Depending on your device settings, this information may also be included in a backup of your device that you make (such as an iCloud or Google backup). That backup belongs to you and is not transmitted to us.
Information transmitted to our server
The App obtains data from our server at api.itsthetiming.com. Depending on the feature used, the App transmits the following information:

Each request also contains a fixed key that identifies the App, not you. We do not use the information above to identify you, create profiles, or deliver advertising, and we do not sell it.
The request that our server sends to the Seoul service contains the stop number and a key that identifies our server. Our server does not add your IP address or any other information about you to this request. How the Seoul service handles the requests it receives is governed by its own policies. We also keep a daily count of requests made to the Seoul service; the count contains no information about users.
Technical data processed by our hosting provider
Our server operates on the network of Cloudflare, Inc. (United States), which maintains data centers worldwide. To deliver responses and protect the service, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address and the time of each request. We use IP addresses only momentarily to limit excessive requests and do not retain them. The temporary cache described in Section 3 also operates on the Cloudflare network. Cloudflare’s processing is governed by the Cloudflare Privacy Policy. Therefore, your requests may be processed in the country where you are or in other countries where the US-based Cloudflare operates its data centers. Searching, arrivals, the Facilities Guide and address translation work only by contacting our server. If you do not want your requests processed in other countries, you can choose not to use these features. However, you can still use the route map image and your Favorites list that are shown on your device.
Inquiry email. If you send an email to bradjmkim@gmail.com, the message (your address, the content, and any attachment) is received and stored by Google LLC (United States) as the email provider, may be processed in the countries where Google operates, and is subject to the Google Privacy Policy. We use the message only to reply and delete it as described in Section 11. This transfer occurs only when you send us an email. Messages sent to bradkim@sep-korea.com are received and stored on a mail server in the Republic of Korea.
Sources of transit data
Subway arrival information, elevator status, station names, and station amenities are derived from public data published by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and Seoul Metro. Bus arrival information is derived from the bus information service of the Seoul Metropolitan Government, and the list of bus stops from its open data service. Our server retrieves subway, elevator, and station data on a fixed schedule and the list of bus stops once a day. Bus arrivals are requested when you view a stop, and the stop number is sent as described in Section 3. Your search terms are not transmitted to these organizations. In the About Timing app screen (opened with the ⓘ button), there are links to public data pages operated by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Korean government. When you open a link, the page opens in your device's browser, and that website's own privacy policy applies. Timing is an app developed and operated by us. It is not affiliated with or sponsored by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Seoul Metropolitan Government, Seoul Metro, or any other related public institution.
Sharing of information
We do not sell, rent, or otherwise provide personal information to third parties. The only external parties involved in operating the App are Cloudflare (Section 4), Google as the provider of the email account that receives inquiries (Section 4), the address service of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety (Section 3), and the bus arrival service of the Seoul Metropolitan Government (Section 3). The purchase of the App is processed by Apple or Google (Section 1).
Children
The App is a general-purpose travel tool. Because it does not identify its users, we do not retain personal information of any user, including children.
Security
All communications between the App and our server are encrypted using HTTPS. Our server does not store information that identifies you, and access to the server is restricted to the operator’s account.
Your rights
Depending on where you reside, laws such as the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Personal Information Protection Act of the Republic of Korea may grant you the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, to restrict or object to its processing, and to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. Because the App does not retain information that identifies you, we generally hold no personal information to provide. You may remove favorite stations in the App at any time, and you may submit any request or inquiry using the contact details in Section 11. We will respond without undue delay and within the period required by applicable law.
For users subject to the GDPR: search terms and bus stop numbers you submit are processed as necessary to provide the feature you request (Art. 6(1)(b)), and technical data is processed for delivery and security on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating a secure service (Art. 6(1)(f)). No automated decision-making or profiling takes place.
Changes to this policy
We may amend this policy to reflect changes to the App or applicable law. Amendments will be posted on this page with a revised effective date, and material changes affecting your rights will be posted at least seven days before they take effect. Before introducing any new feature that processes personal information, we will amend this policy.
Version 1.1 adds bus arrivals (Sections 3, 5, and 6) and a statement on payment for the App (Sections 1 and 6).

If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply. Within five days after we reply, we permanently delete the message, including its copy in the trash folder, and any copy downloaded to a device.
If the English and Korean versions of this policy are inconsistent, the English version prevails.
