Timing Privacy Policy
Timing is a Seoul subway guide for travelers, published by SEP TRADING CO.,LTD. (“we”). It works without accounts, tracking, or advertising. This policy explains what leaves your device, why, and how long anything is kept.
At a glance
- No account, no login, no ads, no analytics or tracking.
- Timing doesn’t ask for your location, contacts, photos, camera, or notifications.
- Your favorite stations stay on your device.
- What you type to search is sent to our server only to get results, and it isn’t linked to you.
- Address searches go to the Korean government’s address service.
Information that we don’t collect
We don’t ask for or collect your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, or advertising identifiers. Timing contains no advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting software.

Information sent to our server
Timing gets its data from our server at api.itsthetiming.com. Depending on what you do, the app sends:

Every request also carries a fixed key that identifies the Timing app itself, not you. We don’t use any of this information to identify you, build profiles, or advertise, and we don’t sell it.
Technical data handled by our hosting provider
Our server runs on the network of Cloudflare, Inc. (United States), which has data centers worldwide. To deliver responses and protect the service, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address and the time of each request. We use the IP address only for a moment to limit excessive requests; we don’t keep it. Cloudflare’s own handling is described in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy. Because of this, your requests may be processed outside your country, including in the United States and South Korea.
Where the transit data comes from
Arrival information, elevator status, station names, and station amenities come from public data published by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and Seoul Metro. Our server downloads this data on its own schedule; your searches are never sent to them. Links on the About screen open their websites, which have their own privacy policies. Timing is independent and isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by these organizations.
Sharing
We don’t sell, rent, or share personal information. The only outside parties involved in running the app are Cloudflare (section 04) and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s address service (section 03).
Children
Timing is a general travel tool. It doesn’t identify its users, so we hold no personal information about anyone, including children.
Security
All communication between the app and our server is encrypted (HTTPS). Our server stores no information that identifies you, and access to it is limited to the operator’s account.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as the EU and UK GDPR or Korea’s Personal Information Protection Act give you rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal information, and to complain to a data protection authority. Because Timing keeps nothing that identifies you, there is usually nothing for us to retrieve — you can remove favorites in the app at any time, and you can contact us with any request or question. We’ll reply within one month.
For readers subject to the GDPR: handling the searches you submit is necessary to provide the feature you ask for, and processing technical data for delivery and security is based on our legitimate interest in running a secure service (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f)). There is no automated decision-making or profiling.
Changes
If the app or the law changes, we’ll update this page and its effective date. If we add a feature that handles personal information, such as purchases, we’ll update this policy before releasing it.
